But I'm bothered by the idea that a complexity of writing style could exclude a text from being YA, or even the author's intent. By that definition, Jo...That's a good question. By that definition, Jodi Picoult writes a lot of YA. The style is different, though. YA written for teens moves at a faster pace. Lots of white space.
